Frequently Asked Questions

Can we leave a large set in the hall?

Storage is limited at the hall and artists will have access to a cupboard that can house small props and a stereo, for example.  Any larger set pieces would have to be removed so that the space can be used freely on Wednesdays by the community or for any other hall users booked in around your booking.

Can we negotiate on price?

We appreciate that many artists are running on very tight budgets. However, the current rates being offered to artists are already discounted. We are offering this to support artists and bring creativity into the community but we are not able to offer the space for any less or for free. We appreciate that there are some restrictions to hall hire in terms of Wednesday unavailability and storage facilities and feel that we have redressed this in the current pricing. The money raised from hall hire goes towards projects in the local community such as day trips and community events.

This applies to clients within or outside the estate.

What is the floor like?

It is an even, lino floor and cleaned weekly. We also ask that all users leave the hall in a clean and tidy condition.  Its suitable for work in bare feet. However, it is not sprung so dance artists may want to look at this more closely in a site visit.

Are table and chairs available?

Yes, tables and chairs are available for use and would be suitable for most rehearsal and reading needs. Please look at the pictures on our website to see them.

Is there a deposit?

Yes. We ask for a £100 deposit on booking to be paid against any damage to the hall or inconvenience to staff or neighbours. £90 of this will be returnable after a deduction of £5 for the cleaning and a further £5 for the caretaker is made. The remaining balance is to be paid at least 14 days before the hire begins.

How do we make a payment?

Payment can be made in cash, by cheques or bank transfers.

How do we confirm our booking?

Once you have got in touch and your dates have been confirmed as available we will ask you to sign our terms and conditions and pay the deposit. Once we have your full deposit your booking will be confirmed.
